Giambattista Valli Fall 2022 Haute Couture - For The Tulle And Ballgown Lovers

Tulle and large princess-style gowns have become synonyms with Giambattista Valli with their dresses being worn on the red carpet by the likes of Ariana Grande, Emma Roberts and Kacey Musgraves. Their latest couture collection, shown yesterday in Paris, is no exception to their own rules.

The show was extravagant, almost party-esque which was heightened by the balloon-based set decoration (admittedly, not a favourite amongst online fashion watchers). The collection is fun and flirty, starting with more timid straight line designs in neutral shades perfect for those who aren’t big risk-takers. Slowly but surely colour began to creep in in the forms of bows (a signature for Giambattista Valli) and feather accents.

The arrival of glaring neon colours, voluminous tulle and full skirts is where this collection truly comes to life. While classic and some may say a safe choice for the brand, it always works and, after all, if it isn’t broken why try and fix it! With 58 looks, the collection is large for couture and perhaps could have benefited from several removals, but overall the collection is filled to the brim with joy!
