Wednesday Addams stuns in Versace…well, the star of Wednesday, the new Addams family spin-off from Netflix, Jenna Ortega stunned in Versace! Yesterday evening at the premiere of the new comedy/horror television series, Ortega wore Versace Spring/Summer 2023 almost straight off the runway.

Lovingly christened the Versace goth brides by high fashion twitter, the last Versace collection shown in Milan back in September featured several goth-inspired bridal looks in a range of colours from black to neon yellow. The final look (if you don’t include the pink glittery ensemble worn by Paris Hilton) was a dramatic black silk slip gown with a sensational leg slit and delicately adorned with matching black lace. The look was accessorised on the runway with complementing black lace gloves and a sheer black veil.

The crinkled appearance of the dress looked magnificent on Ortega, who chose to abandon the matching lace gloves and not wear the veil over her face. These choices allowed the ensemble to feel slightly less dramatic than the runway styling, yet still fit wonderfully with the overall aesthetic of the show, the red carpet design and the character of Wednesday Addams so much so you can almost believe this is in fact an outfit Wednesday herself would choose to wear.

This isn’t, however, Ortega’s first Wednesday-appropriate look of the last few days! Just days ago she wore another all-black, lace-detailed gown to appear as a guest on the Jimmy Kimmel show. The Dion Lee Spring/Summer 2023 piece once again looked fabulous and, once again, we could totally see Wednesday having this in her wardrobe.
