Victoria Beckham’s Colossal Collection of Hermès Birkins

Owning an Hermès Birkin is one of *the* status symbols of wealth and style, but with price tags ranging anywhere from $9k to $500k, even the average millionaire will own only one or two. For some though, owning one will never be enough and if you have the money why not have your own mega Birkin collection? And that is exactly what ex-pop star turned luxury fashion designer Victoria Beckham has done.

It was back in 2004 that posh spice first caught the Birkin bug, purchasing the iconic handbag in a shade of beige. When you catch the Birkin bug it takes over swiftly and before she knew it Victoria had acquired a white and lime green version within a year. Her collection continued to multiply and along came black, orange and red models of the well-known tote bag. She even managed to get her hands on highly coveted rare editions which can sell for millions of pounds, a purple ostrich and burgundy exotic crocodile. And it wasn’t just the Birkin she was falling head over heels in love with, she also started adding the Hermès Kelly, made famous by Old Hollywood star and Monaqasque Princess Grace Kelly

While the media may now be hyper-focused on Brooklyn and Nicola Peltz Beckham, back in the early and mid-2000s the media was obsessed with Posh and Becks’ relationship, keeping a very close eye on not just how many wedding rings she was receiving from her footballer husband but also how many Birkins she was being gifted by him too. By the end of the deceased, the British newspaper the Guardian had estimated that Victoria's throng of Hermès bags, at that time in the region of around 100 pieces, was worth in excess of over £1 million!

While we associate this period of Victoria’s life with the Birkin, she wasn’t necessarily an Hermès loyalist. She was frequently seen carrying bags from Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Dolce & Gabbana and, when the time came, her own designs. One can only imagine the size of the room, or house wing needed to store all of these glorious handbags to keep them in top condition. While we ponder that thought, here are a myriad of images of Victoria Beckham showing off her colossal collection!
