Harry Styles Steps Away From Gucci For Brits Red Carpet
When Kering announce last year that Alessandro Michele would be stepping down as creative director of Gucci many began frantically questioning what would happen to the brand's relationship with Harry Styles. The international superstar singer has been associated with the Italian fashion house for many years now, wearing Gucci to almost every show on his global music tours, for most red-carpet appearances and even collaborating with the luxury fashion house on a collection entitled Gucci HaHaHa.
Just mere months after the shock announcement, it would seem that Styles is moving on from his fling with Gucci. At last night’s Brit Awards in London, where he won a handsome four awards, Styles was not seen in his go-to brand. Instead, he debuted one of the first red-carpet outings for Nina Ricci under the direction of Harris Reed. The black velvet tailored suit with accessorised with an overside matching corsage around the neck. The look has been at the top of almost all best-dressed red carpet lists from the famously fun awards night. While he did go on to perform in a red cropped sequin jacket from Gucci, he quickly changed into a relaxed tailored suit from S S Daley.
This is not the first time this week that Harry Styles has caused conversation about his fashion choices. At the 2023 Grammy’s earlier in the week (yes, it’s been a busy week!), stylist Harry Lambert placed Styles in a rainbow-coloured sequin jumpsuit by brand Egonlab. He then proceeded to change into another sequin jumpsuit, although this time a bit more extravagant, for his performance of As It Was. This look, and his next, were both by Gucci.
While it would seem that Styles is not breaking up with the fashion house any time soon, it is refreshing to see him and Lambert beginning to experiment with different houses and styles on the red carpet. Time will only tell however what Style’s next fashion adventure will be…
