Gucci Announces Harry Styles Collaboration

All Harries rise! After several years as a brand ambassador Harry Styles has finally dipped his toes into fashion design with his favourite brand Gucci. The collection from Styles and Gucci creative director Alessandro Michele called ‘Gucci HAHAHA’ was unveiled during Milan’s men’s fashion week and the pair are clearly ecstatic to bring this into the world.

“Harry has an incredible sense of fashion,” said Michele in a statement. “The idea of working together came to me one day while we were talking on the phone: I proposed creating a ‘dream wardrobe’ with him… We ended up with a mix of aesthetics, from 1970s pop and bohemia to the revision of the image of the gentleman in an overturned memory of men’s tailoring,”

This is not the first time that Styles and Michele have worked together and nor will it be the last. Eager followers of Style’s current Love on Tour will know that he has worn custom Gucci at every show (If you want to keep up to date we recommend following Harry Lambert on Twitter).

“Harry has a very clear and precise point of view, on top of great instinct and he chooses his clothes with much care. The idea of this capsule is banal in its simplicity, and it’s an act of love, but it has value, it’s sophisticated and we paid a lot of attention to fabrics and sartorial details” Says Michele. “It was a lighthearted activity and easy with this kind of relationship. But the result is serious.”

The 25-piece capsule collection very much feels true to Michele’s Gucci but with an added twist of Styles, that being a baseline of 1970s British design with a sprinkling of not taking themselves too seriously. While the collection, which will be available as a one-off in October, is menswear the pieces all feel unisex and we’re sure we’ll see these pieces on many celebrities regardless of gender!
