Bella Hadid Named 2022’s Most Powerful Dresser

In a highly unsurprising turn of events in the final sector of 2022, supermodel Bella Hadid has been named as 2022’s most powerful dresser by online fashion retailer Lyst in its Year of Fashion annual report. The brand’s annual report analyses the data of its over 200 million users to find out which brands, trends and celebrities were most sought after in that given time period.

Everyone with (and honestly without) a pair of eyeballs can see that Bella Hadid has been a significant source of inspiration for many online this year with social media users using her runway and street style ensembles to influence their latest purchases. According to Lyst’s analysis, Bella sparked a 1,900% increase in searches for similar items to those she had been spotted wearing. Beloved for her Y2K casual style she helped boost searches for corsets by 70% and cargo pants by 56%.

After being photographed on the streets of New York in September eating pizza while wearing a pair of ultra mini platform UGG boots, searches for the shoe increased 152% in just 24 hours!

Bella was also involved in Lyst’s official Viral Moment Of The Year. The Coperni SS23 show blew away the minds of many as an almost nude Bella Hadid had her runway dress spray painted onto her. The technology was made possible through a collaboration with the brand Fabrican. The moment swiftly went viral all over social media where on Tiktok #CoperniDress gathered over 1 million views and Coperni received a monumental 3,000% increase in searches, which made it one of the most searched brands of fashion month.

Other notable findings from the reports include Miu Miu as Brand of The Year as searches for the brand increased 30% year-on-year, in part due to its highly viral mini-mini skirts. The Trend of The Year has been found to be Barbiecore as we hotly anticipate the release of Greta Gerwig’s Barbie movie featuring Margot Robbie. As images of Robbie emerged from the set, searches for the colour pink boomed by 416%! The Shoe of The Year goes to the ever trusty Birkenstock Boston Cog while Bag of The Year was secured by the Prada Re-Nylon Re-Edition 2000 mini bag. Searches for the style increased by 131% over the Summer.
